Tuesday May 23, 2017
Start: 10:00
End: 16:00

This event has been organised by Caroline for the East Cornwall Mining History Association (ECMHA) to explore and record the natural history around two, actually three, mining areas below Kit Hill and near Luckett village. Caroline asked us to join in to help and we will have addtional involvement from the Cornwall Mammal Group and Botanical Cornwall. The rest of us should be able to manage the bird life and butterflies, veteran tree measuring, and maybe more!

Monday May 29, 2017
Start: 08:30
End: 17:00

Although not a wildlife group event as such, this circular walk around the parish boundary gives many opportunities to observe and record wildlife in areas which are not usually open to the public. And you will be walking through some lovely countryside.

There will be further details later but the main points are:

Sunday June 4, 2017
Start: 11:00
End: 15:30

Although the timing is difficult and a lot will depend on the weather, we have an opportunity to visit Tresellern Marsh on the eastern side of Bodmin moor to see the display of orchids that the farmer, Maurice Hoskin is so justly proud of. This will be a good time to check for butterflies, especially the Marsh Fritillary, one of the key species in the new 'All the Moor Butterflies' (Butterfly Conservation) project and not too late to look out for Small Pearl-borders.

There should be lots of other plants in flower and insects and birds. We may even hear the cuckoo!
