Time flies! Doesn't seem very long ago that we were counting butterflies but this time it is the birds that we want.

Last year over 500,000 people took part in this annual survey counting over 8 million birds.

You can register on the RSPB website from the 13th of December; click here to link to the page and to find out last year's results.

Please send a copy of your own local list to so we can compare our results.

A late winter walk to look for and record signs of spring in the Kensey Valley north of Tregadillet. This is a moderately easy two hour walk along lanes and footpaths with some long but not steep climbs. We're saying 10:30am for coffee to start promptly by 11am. And if the weather is poor, please check this web-site or phone in case we need to cancel.

The Kensey valley is very much a farming countryside with woods and some small fields and decent hedges left.
