Spam Requests for membership

The Site manager is informed by email, every time  new members request login facilities.

The requests can be genuine or produced by spam, which needs to be checked. (It is also useful to check to see if the important fields have been filled in for the genuine member  - full details of this are provided for the Data Analyst under User Accounts).

There are two approaches to handling Spam Requests:

Respond to each email as it arrives - click on the link in the email. If the Site manager is logged in, the details of the request are seen in the Edit mode. A strange Username and obvious spam account details show that the user should be deleted at the bottom of the form.

Delete  multiple members at one go. The menu Administer Users can be used to delete a group of selected 'users'. Details for this are shown in the help Note Manage Users
