Heath Fritillary butterfly

All are welcome to join in with this event organised by Cornwall Butterfly Conservation and led by Richard Vulliamy. Although the focus will be on the nationally scarce Heath Fritillary butterfly, there will be others and an interesting flora including many orchids and Bastard Balm.

The butterfly was re-introduced to Greenscombe in 2006 and apart from a couple of poor years, it has done well. Richard will give more information in his introduction.

Bring a packed lunch to eat in the car-park before gathering at 1pm.

It is quite a long walk up to the reserve with a couple of steep-ish climbs but well worth the effort.

Equipment & Booking:
Wear sensible outdoor clothing to suit the weather and good walking boots. Binoculars, camera/phone, notebook etc. A snack and drink, suncream, tick repellent.
