Entrance to the reserve at SX322774 just off the road and down from the hill where you can park.

Another weather dependent event but we will know nearer the time and light drizzle shouldn't be a problem...

As well as moth trapping by Mary which was very successful last year, Tony would like to attempt a bat emergence count from one of the hanging bat roost boxes along the top ride. He is hoping to set up some infra-red lighting and a video camera which may prove that it is being used as a nursery roost.

Mary will have already set up at least one moth lamp so after the bats have emerged, we will walk down to help catch moths and enjoy a hot drink and more cake! The finish time is guess-work ~ depends on the evening, there will be those who stay on much later and some earlier.

If the weather looks to be bad, then I suggest you telephone Tony and I will update this web-page accordingly.

Wear warm clothing and bring a torch/headlamp. And insect repellent cream will be essential, for the midges, not the moths!

Equipment & Booking:
Warm clothing; head-lamp and or torch; something to sit on if you stay to watch the moths fly in. Insect repellent!!!
