Meeting:
Carpark on the edge of the moor SX28026964

Another walk with members of the Botanical Group who are trying to update plant records in 1km sqaures (monads) in preparation for a new county flora.

Ian is hoping to cover at least two squares SX2869 and SX2870 so the first will include the edge of Pensilva village but it is always surprising what you can find growing along the pavements and on old walls and hedge banks. Even the cemetery might contain some interesting plants then he will walk north towards Tokenbury Manor along the footpaths through woodland and mining sites.

Group numbers are usually quite small so we all learn and contribute along the way. And we record anything we can confidently recognise, not just plants.

The finish time is usually about 4pm but it is quite possible to leave earlier.

Equipment & Booking:
Wear good walking boots and dress for the weather. Bring a snack or lunch if you intend to stay all day. Binoculars, eye glass, notebook, camera/phone all useful.
