As well as up-dating and hopefully, adding some new records, Ian and the botanical group are hoping to search for the Field Gentian Gentianella campestris in an area where it was recorded many years ago.

The monads that we will be walking in are SX3771 & 3773. Although the focus is on plants and ferns, we record any other species we can recognise.

Kit Hill is a place that our group has visited before but not at this time of year. The heather and gorse will be in flower and if it is a nice day (?), the views are tremendous all around. Technically, the hill counts as a mountain because of the height from the base on the southern side right up to the top. I will try to remember to bring the booklet about the Hill which has quite a peculiar history, even in recent times and its mining heritage is being brought right up to date this year with prospecting on its southern slopes.

Equipment & Booking:
Good walking boots and outdoor clothing, a snack or lunch if you plan to stay into the afternoon; binoculars, eye glass, notebook, camera/phone.
