At the Springer Spaniel pub SX34827782 but parking off-road on Monks Hill.

The first of about five walks in our area, organised by Ian for the Botanical Cornwall Group but all are welcome and this walk will take in part of Lezant parish so maybe familiar ground for some.

If you are interested in wild flowers, this is an opportunity to learn and even the common species are important.

These locations are selected by Ian because the numbers of species are not quite what they should be and with a new county flora in mind, the group is trying to target these kinds of areas to ensure that as many species as possible are included.

Most of the walk is along footpaths and lanes and it is surprising the area we cover, especially as we seldom rush!

The walks start prompt at 10am so we say arrive a little bit early so there's time for a chat.

Bring a packed lunch etc if you plan to stay all day but if you need to leave early, that's fine, so long as Ian knows.

If the weather is awful, he will cancel but on the day, dress for the weather and wear good walking boots.

Please email Ian for a complete list across the county ~ there are some interesting walks in partnership with Plantlife, Friends of Churchtown and the National Trust.
