Jay visiting our Garden
Jay

The Jay is a shy beautiful woodland bird and the most colourful bird in the crow family.

Jays rarely visited gardens before 1998 one explanation for their change in habit is that they had depleted their stores of acorns and moved into the gardens in search of food. Like all crows the Jay is intelligent and they quickly mastered extracting peanuts from containers where they can now often be seen feeding.
